Defence Minister: Airstrike Kills 11 Al-Shabaab Leaders in Middle Shabelle

Galkayo(SONNA)-Minister of Defence of the Federal Government of Somalia, Ahmed Moallim Fiqi, announced on Wednesday that an airstrike targeted a meeting of senior Al-Shabaab leaders in Adan Yabal district, Middle Shabelle region, killing 11 militants and wounding four others.

Speaking at a press conference in Galkayo, Fiqi said the meeting was chaired by Yusuf Isse Kaba-Kudukade, the group's senior leader in Middle Shabelle, who was among those injured in the strike.

He described the operation as a significant blow to the group's leadership structure.

The minister said the operation is part of ongoing military efforts to dismantle Al-Shabaab's command network and intensify pressure on the militant group across the country.
