Interior Minister Reviews Civil Registration Services and Systems

Mogadishu, (SONNA) — The Minister of Interior, Federal Affairs and Reconciliation, H.E. Ali Yusuf Ali Hosh, conducted a working visit to the Directorate of Civil Registration and Vital Statistics, focusing on systems that enable citizens to be formally recognised and effectively served by the state.

The Minister received a briefing from Director General Abdikhani Wehliye on ongoing work, public services and plans to further develop the civil registration system. He also met with staff across the Directorate and reviewed their work, encouraging continued efforts to improve the quality and reach of services provided to the Somali people.

The Minister highlighted the importance of civil registration as a foundation for legal identity, public service delivery and effective government planning.

The Ministry remains committed to expanding civil registration services and advancing a unified system that can serve communities across Somalia, making civil registration an increasingly accessible and reliable public service nationwide.
